Tennis and Golfers Elbow
Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis) is an acquired painful chronic irritation of the tendons and ligaments of the forearm musculature at the musculo-tendonous insertion. The muscles are also affected due to the repetitive sprain/strain activity and or overexertion of the forearm musculature either via extreme overexertion or through frequent repetitive movements. The pain is often characterised by a strong pain in the elbow joint either radiating to the lateral forearm and associated musculature (lateral/Tennis elbow) or a strong pain in the inside of the elbow radiating to the medial forearm and associated musculature (medial/ Golfers Elbow). The treatment of both Tennis and Golfer’s elbow utilising ESWT Focused Shock Wave Therapy is an established, successful medical treatment of tendonopathies.
